Wood tends to produce a sound that seems warm and mellow when compared to metal. So this headjoint offers a completely different feel and tonal characteristic compared to the usual 925 silver and is well suited especially to baroque pieces, without giving up entirely to the projection of silver.

It also offers optimum conditions for all those, who tend to produce rather colourless sounds with a metal lip plate.

With a lip plate of grenadilla wood it is possible, even at economical air flow, to produce a warm sound with a rich overtone resonance.

Moreover it is a practicable alternative for players who are allergic to nickel or haveother skin problems.

This headjoint is available with the following variants:

– all ebony (both lip plate and riser made with wood)

– ebony lip plate and sterling silver riser (more sound projection and responsive flexibility)
